Location of Bethany's Stilwell Mission

Stilwell, Kansas

80 acres of land have been purchased at the above location.  An architect has been selected.  The above diagram is a proposed land development plan showing church, classrooms, day school, sports fields, and retirement housing.  The church will be developed in three stages with the first stage consisting of a commons area with seating for 300, office area, kitchen, and classrooms.   Check back for periodical updates.

Saturday Schedule

Evening Worship:  5:30 p.m.

Holy Communion is celebrated on the second and fourth Saturday Evening Service.

Sunday Schedule

  Traditional Worship: 8:00 a.m. 9:30 a.m.  
  Contemporary Worship:   11:00 a.m.  
  Sunday School and Bible Classes: 9:30 a.m. 11:00 a.m.  

Holy Communion is usually celebrated in the Traditional Services on the first and third Sundays of each month -- and in ALL FESTIVAL SERVICES. On the second and fourth Sundays, Holy Communion is offered during the Contemporary Service.

A nursery is provided each Saturday evening and Sunday morning for infants and children to three years during all worship services and Bible study.

Service of Healing and Restoration

A Service of Healing and Restoration is held the first Sunday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. 

Our next service of Healing and Restoration will be held on April 6.

Mission Statement and Ministry Objectives

Mission Statement

Bethany Lutheran Church of Johnson County is a community of God’s people gathered by the Holy Spirit for the purpose of lifting the Cross of Christ to those around us and throughout the world, so that life with our Father might be shared by all.

Ministry Objectives

Guided by the Holy Spirit, we conclude that Christ is calling each member of Bethany to a ministry of making disciples --- more disciples and better disciples. This mandate of the Great Commission is fulfilled as we:

  1. Celebrate God’s love and our life in the Lord through regular worship with Word and Sacrament.The North Window
     
  2. Cultivate a more personal relationship with Christ and a deeper understanding of our Christian Faith through the study of God’s word.
     
  3. Communicate to the unsaved the good News of God’s forgiveness and life through the death and resurrection of Jesus.
     
  4. Care for the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of all within and outside the family of faith.
     
  5. Call each believer to active discipleship --- to a Christian lifestyle characterized by prayer, love, joy, service, and obedience to the Will of God.
     
  6. Challenge each other in love to offer to Christ and His Church the best of our time, talent, and treasure.
     
  7. Come together as the family of God for mutual encouragement, fellowship, and support.
