Do you have small children? Do you spend more time planning their days than you do planning your marriage and family?
A strong healthy Christian family takes time and work. One of the most effective ways parents can strengthen their family is by getting involved in relationships with other young families. Sharing family joys and struggles with others going through similar experiences is encouraging and provides support and friendship.
What is Family Builders?
Family Builders is Bethany’s ministry directed at parents. It began with small groups of parents interested in strengthening their families. They joined other parents with kids in searching out God’s guidance and direction for a Christian family through Bible study and fellowship. Children are generally preschool age, but range from infant to middle school.
How Do We Get Involved?
Small Groups
Family Builders’ primary focus is on small groups. Small groups encourage more intimate, interactive sharing and development of deep, long-lasting friendships with other Christian families. Generally, small groups are comprised of five to six couples who meet at Bethany Lutheran Church (taking advantage of the nursery) or each other’s home on various nights of the week. They typically meet twice a moth. Our Bible study topics have ranged from parenting, marriage, finances, the Sacraments, books of the Bible, and other topics that interest the groups. There are currently eight groups with groups continually starting.
Special Events
Family Builders hosts several regular events each year with a relaxing fun focus toward family fellowship, as well as servant projects. Everyone involved in Family Builders, or those interested in being involved, are invited to these special events. See Life at Bethany for time and date updates.
